Biskupin is a famous reconstruction of a fortified settlement from about 2,700 years ago, belonging to the Lusatian culture – nicknamed the “Polish Pompeii”. You can enter the wooden huts, walk along the palisade and feel the atmosphere of the Iron Age.
The September Archaeological Festival, with demonstrations of old crafts, combat and daily life, is the most popular event. It is one of Poland’s most recognisable archaeological attractions and a great destination for a family trip.
