Giecz is one of the key strongholds of early Piast Poland, alongside Gniezno, Poznań and Ostrów Lednicki. In the archaeological reserve “Stronghold of the Piasts in Giecz” (a branch of the Museum of the First Piasts) you can see the ramparts and the relics of a Romanesque church.
It is an important place for understanding the beginnings of the Polish state, and at the same time quiet and atmospheric. The exhibitions bring closer the daily life and architecture of those times.
