According to legend, Lech Hill is the place where Lech saw a white eagle’s nest and decided to found his stronghold here – Gniezno. It is the historic heart of the city and the cradle of Polish statehood, rising over the area together with the silhouette of the cathedral.
A walk around the hill is a journey to the roots of Poland, combined with beautiful views of the lakes and the old town. It is also a natural starting point for visiting the cathedral, museums and the nearby lakeside promenade at Lake Jelonek.
